GARRETT, FRANKLIN REACH TENNIS QUARTERFINALS

The Lady Bearcat doubles team of Linley Garrett and Lexi Franklin won their opening round Class 3A state tournament match with a tiebreaker that gave them a straight set win.

Garrett and Franklin were paired with a duo from Smackover in the 15-team field and won the opening set 7-5.

Tied at 6-6 at the end of the second set sent the set to a tiebreaker, which Garrett and Franklin won by a thin 7-5 margin.

In the quarterfinals Garrett and Franklin drew a team from Harding and were eliminated, 6-2 and 6-1.

The Bearcat doubles team of Juan Buigues-Jorro and Marcos Mullor were paired against a team from Harrisburg and were bounced in the opening round.

The tournament was hosted by Bergman and held at Conway City Courts.
