The Booneville Seventh Grade Bearcats had four rushers with at least 50 yards in a 38-0 win at Mansfield Thursday night.
For the night the Bearcats ran for 332 yards.
The Bearcats (5-1) got it started when Callen Montalvo rumbled 43 yards about five minutes into the game. Caiden Poore ran for a two-point conversion and an 8-0 lead.
Montalvo, who had a sack in the ensuing Tiger possession, finished with five carries for a team high 88 yards.
Sandler Miller (shown) ran for 8 and 9 yards on the first two plays of an eight play drive that Hayden “HD” Daniel capped with a 5 yard run. Montalvo ran for another conversion and it was 16-0.
Daniel ran 10 times for 50 yards.
On his only carry, Poore went 53 yards for a touchdown in what was a one-play drive with 2:00 to play in the first half then, like Montalvo, had a sack on the ensuing possession.
Joshua Gonzalez got the two-point conversion chance after the Poore score and made good with it to make it 24-0.
Mansfield had to punt again on its next possession and the Bearcats tacked on a 25-yard scoring run from Montalvo and it was 30-0 at the half.
The half would end on a Miller interception.
Laythen Shaffer took over as the main rusher in the second half and ran eight times for 57 yards but it was Braxton Ritchie ran 8 yards for a touchdown. Shaffer did run for the extra two to make it 38-0.
When Mansfield got something going Brody Strain disrupted one pass play and on the final play of the night it was Gage Lunsford picking off a pass to seal it.
The Bearcats will play next against Charleston on Thursday.
