With Taylor Shaver and Devon Ritchie finishing first and second in the junior boys division of the District 3A-4 meet in Danville Tuesday the Bearcats won the meet and league title.
But it was sixth place finisher Caden Miller who clinched the title.
Cross country points are determined through the addition of placement finishes with the lowest combined score winning.
With Shaver (shown) and Ritchie first and second, and Hunter Pollard in eighth, Hayden Wiley in 10th, and Bobby McJunkin in 13th the Bearcats had 34 points.
So too did Cossatot River.
Miller was 14th for the fewest points in the tiebreaker giving the win to the Bearcats and head coach Ronnie Denton.
Aayden Hill and Cooper Lentz were also on the course for the title winners, which was the only full team at the meet for the Bearcats.
However, both girls teams were represented.
Zayla Honey ran fourth for the Junior Lady Bearcats and Pheobe Adair was 20th in the field.
For the senior Lady Bearcats Natalie Blankenship was the lone runner, and she finished eighth.
All junior high runners, with the exception of Wiley, are eighth graders.
