In 2019 this year's Bearcat seniors and juniors were responsible for ending a Pirate junior high winning streak that had extended more than two full seasons.
However, the school have not met during their senior high careers.
The Pirates were the only Conference 3A-1 team to win a playoff game in 2021 – Charleston had a bye and lost in the second round and the Bearcats were in the 3A-4 – but they have been eliminated from the postseason this year.
The Bearcats clinched the number two seed with last week’s road win over Lavaca and will host a first round game on November 11.
Last night the Bearcats learned their first round opponent will be Junction City.
