The Booneville Seventh Grade Bearcats closed out the 2022 season with a 22-6 win over Cedarville Thursday night at Bearcat Stadium.
The seventh straight win, it was also the sixth straight game the Bearcats (8-1, 7-0 Conference 3A-4) held an opponent to one score or less.
With Braxton Hubble (70 above), Hunter Barnes (77) , and Braxton Ritchie in the Pirate backfield over the first three plays, the Bearcat defense forced a simulated punt to start the game then the offense went 59 yards in five plays to take an 8-0 lead.
Hayden “H.D.” Daniel got the touchdown on a 32-yard run and Sadler Miller ran for a two-point conversion.
The Pirates kept the ball until just under six minutes remained in the first half and the Bearcats moved into the red zone but turned the ball over on downs at the Pirate 13 with 15 seconds to play in the half.
The Bearcats started the second half with a 70-yard drive to with Daniel scoring from the 40.
Daniel ran eight times for 93 yards.
A penalty forced the two point try to be from the 13 but Caiden Poore was able to make his way through the Pirate defenders and make it 16-0.
The Bearcats put the game away with a 2-yard touchdown run by Miller that made it 22-0 with just under five minutes to play.
Miller finished with 80 yards on eight carries.
Cedarville got on the board with a 75-yard run in the final minute.
