Booneville secured its 75th playoff win last week against Junction City. Smackover, according to Fearless Friday, evened its postseason mark at 30-30 with their win over Barton.

The two programs squaring off tonight are both two-seeds this season but have combined to win seven state titles with the Bearcats winning four (1986, 2000, 2013, 2018) and Buckaroos three (1940, 1943, and 1949).

First Meeting: Teams Have Never Met
Conference Affiliations: Bearcats are 3A-1, Smackover 3A-5

NOTES: Last week Trace Hall became the second 1,000-yard rusher for the Bearcats, joining Dax Goff. Cody Elliott needs 44 yards to become the third.

The Bearcats have had nine different players return kickoffs. There have been seven different defenders record interceptions.

The Bearcats have surpassed the 400-point mark for the 16th time in school history.

THIS DATE IN BEARCAT FOOTBALL HISTORY: The Beractas are 8-1 all time in games documented to have been played on November 18, including a 3-0 mark in the playoffs.

On November 18, 2005 the Bearcats hosted Hamburg for a second round game. Before it ended the Bearcats had gotten 141 rushing yards from Curtis Christian, 137 from Derek Davis, 123 from Daniel Shaw and 79 from Tobler Turner. Problems with the kicking game dictated a try for two on every score and five times it was good, tying a school record for the most two-point conversions in a game and setting the record for the most in a playoff game. Christian and Davis both had two of them. The final was 59-26 and there were actually 11 extra points on the eight touchdowns.

In non playoff games Paul X Williams ran for 155 yards in a 26-0 win over Dardanelle on November 18, 1955 and there were a pair of interception returns for touchdowns against Paris on the date with Leonard Blagg taking one back 63 yards in a 45-19 win in 1960 and Bobby Glasgor returning one 60 yards in a 20-7 win in 1966. The 1966 game also had a 90-yard David Cotner kickoff return for a touchdown.

TONIGHT IN THE 3A-1: Bearcats (3A-1 2) at Smackover (3A-5 2); Charleston (3A-1 1) v Centerpoint (3A-4 2); Greenland (3A-1 3) at Melbourne (3A-2 1)
