Sophomores Dakota Mattson and Noah Harrel combined for 19 first quarter points and the Booneville Bearcats were well on their way to a big win on senior/homecoming night, 56-14 over Two Rivers.

Mattson had seven points in the first 3:43 of the game and the Bearcats (11-6, 7-3 Conference 3A-4) led 11-0.

He added two more points before Harrel went on to score 10 in a span of 1:28 and it was 26-5 after one quarter.

Mattson was done for the night offensively. Harrel wasn’t.

But, before Harrel could log another basket it was senior Raiden Ferguson (shown) who scored 10 points in the first 3:14 of the second quarter . The only interruption was a Colter Fisher basket.

After Harrel returned to the floor he and sophomore Dakota Fonseca both scored and it was 42-5, and a run of 29 straight Bearcat points.

Two Rivers managed another basket before halftime.

The clock ran continuously throughout the second half with the scoring belonging largely to Aiden Carter, another sophomore.

After a 3 gave Harrel a game-high 15 he was finished and Carter scored the next eight for the Bearcats. Fonseca scored the final three of the night.

The Bearcats will next take on Paris in Paris tomorrow following a girls game that tips off at 6 p.m.. The game was postponed on Tuesday.
