Scoring 17 times in the third inning the Bearcat baseball team cruised to a 27-0 win in Cedarville to open Conference 3A-4 play Tuesday.

It was 5-0 going to the third although the Bearcats (2-2, 1-0 Conference 3A-4) had managed just two base hits. By the end of the day there would be 17.

Dax Goff tripled (shown) in the inning and was 2-for-3 on the day with two runs batted in. Goff also picked up the win on the mound with four innings of shutout work, allowing one hit and one walk with nine strikeouts.

A revamped lineup had Dunn Daniel in the two spot in the order and the senior responded with a 3-for-4 day with three runs scored and two batted in.

Freshman Rhett Nietert who was moved to the top of the order also scored three times spraying the ball to both right and left fields and putting down a tremendous bunt.

The five spot in the order also saw three base hits with Matt O’Bar driving in the first run of the game in the first inning with a single and Dylan Todd singling twice after taking over the spot.

Brooks Herrera finished the game striking out the side in the Pirate fifth. He also scored four times.

David Hicks had a two-run single and drove in three on the day as did Conner Lentz, who had two hits in five at bats.

Also recording multiple RBI games were Peyton Tatum and Jace Washburn with two each.

Scheduled next for the Bearcats is another conference game against Paris at the Billy Kiersey Baseball/Softball Complex on Friday.
