Lady Bearcat pitcher Lexi Franklin recorded her 500th career strikeout and her 50th career win in a 15-0 win over Paris Monday.
Franklin struck out the side in the first and finished by recording seven of the nine Lady Eagle outs on strikes. Paris did not have a hit.
It was 3-0 after an inning though the Lady Bearcats had just one hit, a triple by Layla Byrum that scored Roni Tillery, who had walked.
There would be four more walks in the first inning and eight more in the second, along with a couple Paris errors and a single base hit, again by Brum, leading to nine Lady Bearcat runs and it was 12-0.
In the third Emily Smith, Karmen Kent, and Kylie Lunsford all walked – bringing the total to 15 – in front of a Shelbie Myer triple that made it 15-0 and ended the game.
The Lady Bearcats will continue a busy week today when they host conference foe Danville at 4:30. Also on the docket this week are games with Mayflower on Thursday, Two Rivers on Friday, and the Raymond Turner Memorial Tournament here on Saturday.
