TILLERY HITS HOME RUN, LADY BEARCATS CLUB COSSATOT

Roni Tillery hit her first home run of the season and drove in three for the Lady Bearcats in a 10—0, five-inning win over Cossatot River Tuesday.

The game had a 3 p.m. start time to beat forecasted storms.

Tillery’s home run came with two aboard in the fifth and made it 9-0. A Leigh Swint single was followed by a pair of errors that allowed Lexi Franklin and Ellie Smith to reach and Swint to score to reach the 10-run threshold to end the game in five.

Franklin issued a walk to open the bottom of the fifth but Tillery cut the runner down trying to steal. A ground out and Franklin’s ninth strikeout (mond meeting after one shown) ended it.

The Lady Bearcats (9-5, 3-1 Conference 3A-4) had taken the lead in the second inning on an error that allowed Farrah Stringer and reach and Presley Walker to score. With two down, Layla Byrum singled home two and it was 3-0.

Kylie Lunsford singled home a pair of runs in the third to make it 5-0.

Cossatot River got a single to open their third for what would be their only hit of the day.

The Lady Bearcats added a run in the fourth on a single by Smith, which followed an error and a hit by Franklin.

Franklin, Smith, and Walker were all credited with two hits on the day.

The Lady Bearcats are scheduled to host Pea Ridge at 4:30 Thursday and Lincoln at 4:30 on Friday.
