With wins in four field events and two sprint events the Booneville Junior High Lady Bearcats finished second in a 14-team Junior High Bulldog Relays in Waldron Wednesday.
The Lady Bearcats accumulated 151 points, just two shy of the host school who won it on the final event of the night.
Anna Ferguson was responsible for two field event wins and a sprint and Presley Walker won both a field event and sprint as well.
Ferguson won the pole vault by clearing 7’ 6”, and the triple jump with a distance of 30’ 11.5”. She also was the top 400-meter dash runner with a time of 1:06.39.
Walker’s triumphs were in the long jump with a distance of 14’ 8.5” and in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 56.32.
Brooklyn Phillips accounted for the remaining event win, taking the shot put with a toss of 33’ 11.25”.
Placing second were Ferguson in the 200 (29.12) and long jump (14’ 5.5”), Vanessa O’Neal in the 800-meter run (2:48.26), the 4x200-meter relay team of Makinley Ensey, Taylor Villarreal, Zoie King, and Brooklyn Hardin (2:06.49), and the 4x800-meter relay team of Christina O'Neal, Tiffany O'Neal, Abby Schup, and Vanessa O'Neal (12.32.84).
Harley Fitzjurls was among the third place finishers doing so in the discus (76’ 3”). Also third were Alana Helms and Walker in a tie in the high jump (4’ 4”), Walker in the triple jump (30’ 5.5”), the 4x100-meter relay team of Helms, Kailey Resch, King and Christina O'Neal (57.24), and the 4x400-meter relay team of Ensey, Villarreal, Tempi Terry and Christina O'Neal (5:10.43).
Taking fifth were Fitzjurls in the shot put (30’ 1”) and Helms in the 400-meter dash (1:15.19).
In sixth were Zoie King in the 300-meter hurdles (59.85), Schulp in the 800 (3:05.35), and Walker in the 100-meter dash (14.28).
Rounding out the scoring were eighth place finishes by Bryleigh Glover in the discus (65’ 1”) and Ferguson in the 100-meter hurdles (19.42).
