Warren, Shelton Have Big Days In Dardanelle

Hunter Warren won two events and was second in another and Chase Shelton took first in one and second in two others for the Booneville Junior High Bearcats at the Sand Lizard Relays in Dardanelle Monday.

Warren won both the 100- and 200-meter dash events with times of 11.19 and 23.34 respectively, and was second in the shot put with a toss of 42’ 4”.

Shelton was first in the long jump at 18’ 11.5” and second in the triple jump at 38’ 3.25”. He was also sixth in the 400-meter dash (57.37) and seventh in the 100 (12.04).

Warren and Shelton were also half of the 4x100-meter relay team along with Conner Droemer and Seth Wilson which took third with a time of 46.56. Shelton also ran a leg of the fifth place 4x400-meter relay team (4:08.32) with Levi McMaster, Devon Ritchie, and Nathaniel McKinney.

Ritchie added a fifth place in the high jump at 5’ 2.25”, and McKinney was seventh in the 400 at 57.46.

McKinney, McMaster, Taylor Shaver and Junior Quick comprised the 4x800-meter relay team that finished third with a time of 10:09.00.

Clayton Green also ran fourth in the 800-meter run at 2:27.61 with Shaver fifth at 2:28.62.

Green and Zaine Penny were also third and fourth in the discus at 99’ 6” and 99 feet, respectively.

Up next for the Bearcats is the District 3A-4 meet in Waldron next Monday.
