Five Bearcat hitters had multiple hit days and five had multiple RBI days in a 17-0 win at Two Rivers Friday that clinched a conference title and was also the 50th win by Bearcat seniors and head coach Arron Kimes.

Kimes took over as head coach in 2020, a season that was shortened to just three games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bearcats won 18 games in 2021, 16 in 2022, and are 13-4 this season.

With a two game lead going into the game, the Bearcats, now 7-0 in Conference 3A-4 play, had already clinched the top seed in next week’s district tournament but removed any doubt with a 16-hit attack.

Dax Goff and Matt O’Bar were both 3-for-3 with Goff hitting his ninth home run of the season, a two-run shot in the first inning. Goff drove in four on the day and also hit one of the five doubles by the Bearcats.

Brooks Herrera, Rhett Nietert, and Jace Washburn were all 2-for-3 with Herrera hitting two doubles and Nietert also having a double. All three were also responsible for two RBI on the day.

The fifth Bearcat with a two RBI day was Ry Ray, who also hit a double.

Herrera (shown) got the nod on the mound for the fourth playing day of the week and threw a three-inning no-hitter, facing only 10 batters.

Herrera (4-2) walked one and hit one batter, who was erased trying to steal, and struck out six in the game.

The Bearcats will close out the conference season today by hosting Subiaco. The Trojans are 3-3 in league play and 10-10 on the season.
