To say the Booneville Junior High Lady Bearcats won the District 3A-4 meet hosted by Waldron Monday night would be an understatement.
The Lady Bearcats placed four in the top eight of five events, won 15 of the 17 total events, including all relays, and were 208 points clear of their closest competitor.
Lady Bearcat Anna Ferguson also scored a high point award with 56 points, which outscored all but her own team and two others.
Ferguson won the 200-meter dash (29.19), the 400-meter run (1:04.66), the 100-meter hurdles (18.60) and the pole vault (8’). She was second in the long jump (14’ 2.5”) and the triple jump (31’ 5”).
Presley Walker also won three events. She was first in the 300-meter hurdles (54.90), the long jump (14’ 4.5”) and the triple jump (31’ 7.75”). Walker was also second in the high jump (4’ 5”).
Alanna Helms won the high jump (4’ 9”) and picked up a second event win in the 100-meter dash (14.19).
Also winning their individual events were Vanessa O’Neal in the 800-meter run (2:46.14) and Brooklyn Phillips in the shot put (31’).
The 4x100-meter relay team winners were Helms, Brooklyn Hardin, Zoie King, and Christina O’Neal (56.43).
The 4x200-meter relay team of Makainley Ensey, King and Hardin was first (2:08.20).
The 4x400-meter relay team of Villarreal, Ensey, Tempi Terry, and Vanessa O’Neal was first (4:58.32).
The 4x800-meter relay team of Christina O’Neal, Tiffany O’Neal, Abby Schlup, and Vanessa O’Neal was first (12:35.04).
Also placing in the 100-meter dash were Novalee Lindstrom third (14.35), Christina O’Neal fourth (14.37), and King eighth (14.96).
In the 200-meter dash it was Lindstrom second (29.82), Helms third (30.33), and Hardin seventh (31.87).
In the 400-meter run Villarreal was second (1:09.34) and Helms was fourth (1:12.17).
In the 800-meter run Christina O’Neal was second (2:49.36), Schlup was fifth (3:08.44), and Tiffany O’Neal was eighth (3:15.73).
Torie Nobles was eighth in the 1600-meter run (7:39.13) giving the Lady Bearcats scoring in all 17 events.
In the 100-meter hurdles were King in third (19.71) and Schulp eighth (21.08).
In the 300-meter hurdles were also King second (56.20) and Natalyn Adair eighth (1:05.45).
In the high jump Terry was third (4’ 2”).
In the long jump Addison Elmore was sixth (12’ 9”) and Helms was seventh (12’ 7.25”).
In the triple jump was Malena Loftin in sixth (25’ 7.5”).
In the discus it was Phillips in third (64’ 2”), Bryleigh Glover fourth (61’ 3”), and Jamie Reed seventh (55’ 1”).
In the shot put it was Glover second (28’ 10.5”), Haylee Taylor fourth (26’ 10.5”), and Reed eighth (25’ 7.5”).
