MATTSON WINS HIGH POINT, BEARCATS RUN AWAY WITH DISTRICT MEET

With Dakota Mattson scoring 40 points, the Booneville Bearcats scored 317 total points to easily win the District 3A-4 track meet hosted by Waldron.

Mattson won the 100- and 200-meter dashes, with times of 11.91 and 24.06 – beating teammates by .03 and .09 – the high jump at 6 feet and ran a leg of the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay teams, and placed fourth in the long jump.

The 4x100-meter relay team consisted of Dax Goff, Brooks Herrera, and Trace Hall along with Mattson (45.75) and the 4x400-meter relay team also included Cody Elliott, Chase Shelton, and Dunn Daniel (3:59.12).

Mattson’s long jump was 20’ 2.5”.

Mattson’s 40 points was more than four team totals as the Bearcats won the meet by 187 by winning four other individual events and sweeping the relays.
