LADY BEARCATS WILL BE TWO SEED IN REGIONAL

Back-to-back first inning triples by Lexi Franklin and Roni Tillery got the Lady Bearcats off to a fast start against Hackett in the District 3A-4 finals Friday afternoon.

The game was played at Rich Mountain Community College, which was the third site used in the tournament hosted by Cossatot River.

Unfortunately Hackett scored eight times in the bottom of the first and went on to a 12-2 win in six innings.

The loss means the Lady Bearcats will be the two seed from the 3A-4 in the Class 3A Region 1 tournament starting Thursday in Harrison. Their first round opponent will Be Elkins.

The first five Hackett hitters reached to start the bottom of the first inning and the Lady Hornets would score five times with two down.

The Lady Bearcats (14-12) but two aboard with one down in the third but were unable to cut into the lead.

It stayed 8-2 until the fifth when Hackett added two runs and after Franklin was left aboard after doubling in the sixth, the Lady Hornets closed it out with two in the bottom of the sixth.
