Booneville track coaches are preparing for a busy day at the Class 3A state track meet in Prescott on Tuesday.

With the exception of a single event, when calls are made to report for an event at meet, a Bearcat or Lady Bearcat will be among those reporting for lane or flight assignment.

During last week’s District 3A-4 meet, a total of 31 Bearcats and Lady Bearcats earned the right to compete in tomorrow’s state meet.

The lone event where track coaches Doc Crowley or Darby Ulmer won’t need to prep an athlete is the 1600-meter run.

There are 18 Bearcats and Lady Bearcats who are qualified in multiple events, including sophomore Dakota Mattson and freshman Anna Ferguson, who are both qualified in five.

Mattson is qualified in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, the high jump, the 4x100-meter relay and the 4x200-meter relay.

Ferguson is qualified in the 200-meter dash, 400-meter run, pole vault, 100-meter hurdles, and the long jump.

Junior Dax Goff and Alanna Helms, another freshman, are both qualified in four. For Goff it's the 100-meter dash, triple jump, shot put and 4x100-meter relay and for Helms it is the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, high jump, and 4x200-meter relay.

Vanessa O’Neal, Christina O’Neal, and Presley Walker, all freshmen, are qualified in three. For Walker its the 300-meter hurdles, triple jump, and 4x100-meter relay and the O'Neal sisters are together in the 800-meter run, 4x400-meter dash, and 4x800-meter relay.
