The Bearcat golf team was limited to just three boys yesterday in Waldron and two of them posted career bests.
Colt Cobb shot a 45 and Landen Ritchie fired a 46 which, combined with Bryce Eaves’ round of 42, gave the Bearcats a team score of 133, good enough for third place in the five team field.
Remaining players were involved with football or other sports and did not make the trip and no girls were available due to the volleyball Purple-White game.
Coach Jake Fennell expects a near full contingent of girls and other boys with the Bearcats next play at Cherokee Creek on Thursday.
The Bearcats were 11 strokes back of Mena and Charleston won the Waldron event.
