Playing their first match at Marcelle Phillips City Park, the Lady Bearcat tennis team recorded their second sweep of the season yesterday, taking every set from Arkins.

The Lady Bearcats won all three of their doubles sets with Linley Garrett and Lexi Franklin sweeping their opponents, Emma Ferguson and Harley Fitzjurls winning a 6-3 set, and Raelynn Franlkin and Mary Haynes recording another 6-0 win.

In singles play it was Angie Brown (shown) winning two sets, one by a narrow 7-5 margin and the other by a 6-2 count. Ferguson added a singles win to her day with a 6-0 set.

Atkins had only one boy player, who won sets against Noah Harrel and Taylor Shaver, so some of the Bearcat netters had to play against each other to get in a set or, in the case of Aiden Carter play a girl, in a set Carter won 6-3.

Aayden Hill topped teammate Hunter Pollard in singles and Daxton Bowman and Wesley Fonseca beat Whitaker Kendall and Gabe Draper.
