THIS DATE IN BEARCAT FOOTBALL HISTORY: The Bearcats are 2-2 in games documented to have been played on December 1. All of the games are playoff games with two being state finals and two being semifinals.

The semifinal game on December 1, 2018 is arguably the greatest game ever played at Bearcat Stadium. The game was moved to a Saturday due to weather and was not settled until a Cam Brasher interception at the goal line with :08 left. The turnover preserved a 34-31 win. Carson Ray ran for 127 yards and scored four touchdowns in the game, including the go-ahead touchdown with 2:03 to play on a drive that took more than six minutes. Andrew Robertson ran for 148 yards. There were a combined 719 total offensive yards in the game.

On December 1, 2000 the Bearcats were on the road for a third straight week, making a trip to McGehee, where they would win 35-13 behind 122 rushing yards and four touchdowns by Les Nuckolls. The other touchdown came from Chance Farley who returned a blocked punt 37 yards for the score. Will Swint also had an interception return of 31 yards but did not score.

NOTES: Dax Goff became the first 2,000-yard rusher and single season leader in school history last year, surpassing the 1967 yards by Ronnie Littleton in 1978. At 2,292 yards through 13 games this season Goff is on the cusp of breaking his own record. After a plus three in turnover margin last week the year-to-date number is plus nine for the Bearcats. The Bearcats have intercepted more passes in the postseason than they did in the regular season. Juan Moreno’s 36-yard field goal last week is the third longest in the playoffs by a Bearcat.
