The Booneville Lady Bearcats hit the 60 point mark for only the second time this season in a 61-32 pounding of Hackett on the road Wednesday night.
The offensive eruption came against a school that held them to just 31 points just eight days earlier.
The Lady Bearcats never trailed in moving to 4-5 in Conference 3A-4 play. Angie Brown and Lexi Franklin scored the first two baskets of the game.
Hackett cut the deficit to 4-2 then to 6-5 after Franklin scored again, but that was as close as it would get as Brown and Franklin both scored again to push it to 10-5.
Brown would cool off somewhat and finish the night with eight points. Franklin was just getting started. She would score 24 to match her season high to go with six rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
Hackett would keep it manageable through the 6:59 mark of the second quarter, getting within 15-13 when two of three free throws fell.
The Lady Bearcats then ran off 15 straight of 4:58 . Tempi Terry had four points in the run, Franklin scored eight, and Linley Garrett hit her first shot from beyond the arc.
The Lady Bearcats ran the lead to 23 twice in the third quarter but both times Hackett hit a 3. A third 3 in the quarter came after a Franklin free throw had made it 46-22.
Garrett answered with her third three – she would hit another and finish with 12 points – and the Lady Bearcats would run the lead to 29 on another 3 by Harley Fitzjurls, which would be Fitzjurls first points of the season.
Brown’s final points came 12 seconds into the final quarter and started the running clock.
Fitzjurls added an assist to her night and Ciara Smith also scored on a rebound to push to total to 61.
The Lady Bearcats will face Cossatot River tonight.
