Basketball season ended for the Booneville Bearcats with a 62-38 loss to Central Arkansas Christian Thursday evening in the opening round of the Class 3A State Tournament being hosted by Elkins.
The Bearcats (19-10) drew first blood on a 3 by senior Colter Fisher, who scored 13 points to lead the Bearcats, and led 6-4 after one by Noah Harrel but CAC scored the next eight and led the rest of the way.
Fisher’s second 3 of the night started the second quarter scoring and got the Bearcats within 17-11 but CAC again scored the next seven and the lead was 32-17 at the half.
Cody Sum (shown), who was named to the All State Tournament Team scored six third quarter points and would finish with 12 to go with three blocked shots.
