The Booneville Lady Bearcats hit three home runs in one inning, two of which were grand slams, and pounded Dover 19-3 Friday at the Billy Kiersey Baseball/Softball complex.
It was a 4-3 game when the bottom of the third began with Lexi Franklin hitting her first home run of the season.
When Franklin came to the plate for the second time in the inning it was 9-3 – Haylee Taylor had singled home a run, Farrah Stringer singled home another, a ground ball by Presley Walker got one, Cam Parish had singled home two and Roni Tillery had drawn a walk to load the bases.
Franklin unloaded on a pitch, taking it out to left for a grand slam and it was 13-3.
With Kylie Lunsford, Peighton Montalvo, and Taylor aboard to reload the bases Stringer drew a walk to score a run to make it 14-3 and when Walker walked it was 15-3.
With two down Parish came up and hit a grand slam down the line in left to make it 19-3 and end the game.
Dover had scored first in the first on a ground ball that got through as a runner advanced but the Lady Bearcats (3-1) got that run back plays one on a single by Tilery and a bases loaded walk drawn by Lunsford, before an out was recorded in the bottom of the inning.
Taylor then singled home two for a 4-1 lead.
After a scoreless second Dover got within 4-3 with one run scoring on a steal and throwing error and another on a double before Makinley Ensey got the final out of the frame.
Making her first appearance in the circle as a Lady Bearcat, Ensey had relieved Franklin to start the third.
The Lady Bearcats will host Waldron tonight and will be at Mena on Tuesday.
