Phillips Wins Shot Put In First Meet Of Season

Brooklyn Phillips won the shot put and was fourth in the discus for the Junior High Lady Bearcats in their first track meet of the 2024 season.

Phillips (shown) winning shot put toss was 34’ 1” and her discuss throw covered 68’ 3”.

Combined the Lady Bearcats scored 26 of their points in the throws as Bryleigh Glover was second in the discus with a throw of 71’ 7” and Jamie Reed was sixth in the shot put, clearing 29’ 1”.

The Lady Bearcats scored 77 total points to take third as a team in the meet.

Zoie King scored in both hurdle events with a 19.03 time for fourth in the 100 meter event and a 57.45 time in the 300 meter distance for third. King was also eighth in the long jump at 13’ 6”.

Abi Schulp was fifth in the 1600-meter run at 6:47.81 and sixth in the 800-meter run at 3:05.34.

Malena Loftin also scored in two individual events placing sixth in the triple jump at 27’ 2” and seventh in the 100-meter dash at 14.39.

The Lady Bearcats had two placements in the high jump with Daniela Vasquez placing third at 4’ 4” and Laci Cibik eighth at 4’.

The Lady Bearcats were also consistent in the relays with all four quartet of runners taking fourth.

The 4x800 team wasTorie Nobles, Cibik, Jessica Canada, and Schulp. The 4x100 team was Kailey Resch, Kaylee King, Cibik, and Vasquez. The 4x200 team was Vasquez, Sienna Siddons, Loftin, and Kaylee King. The 4x400 team was Kaylee King, Cora Nichols, and Kimber Stevenson.
