Lady Bearcat sophomore Cameron Parish hit a school record three home runs and drove in seven for the Lady Bearcats routed Charleston 14-2 in a Conference 3A-4 game Thursday.

The Lady Bearcats (10-4, 2-1) took a 2-0 lead on Parish’s first bomb. Ellie Smith had drawn a walk to start the bottom of the first. Smith would be aboard all three times Parish sent a ball out of the park.

An infield single by Kylie Lunsford and a Farrah Stringer ground out scored two more in the first and it was 4-0.

Smith was on third after a triple in the second when Parish slapped another ball out to left and it was 6-0.

In the third Parish made her third trip with Hayley Taylor and Smith on base and again went deep to left to make it 12-0.

Peighton Montalvo, Lunsford, and Stringer had doubled in succession to start the inning and it was 8-0. Smith drove in a run to make it 9-0.

Before the third inning ended Montalvo singled home another run for a 13-0 lead.

Makinley Ensey and Smith were aboard in the fourth when Parish came up again but there would not be a fourth round-tripper. However, a fly ball off the bat of Roni Tillery would push across a run for a 14-0 lead.

A hit batter and an error proceeded a two run single for the Lady Tigers in the top of the fifth but it was not enough to prolong the game as Lexi Franklin recorded her 13th strike out of the day and a fly ball to end it.

The Lady Bearcats will be in action again today when they host Lamar for a varsity only game at 4:30. The game was originally set for Monday but was rained out.
