Winning the 4x100-meter relay the Booneville Bearcats were third in the annual Gaile Hanley Relays in Waldron held last week.
The 4x100-meter team was Dax Goff, Dakota Mattson, Hunter Warren, and Chase Shelton. Their winning time was 45.78
The top placing Bearcats in individual events were second place finishes by Goff in both the shot put (41’ 9”) and long jump (20’ 1”) and Demari Poole in the discus (114’ 1”).
Conner Lentz took third in the triple jump clearing 38’ 0.5” and the 4x800-meter relay team of Parker Smith, Clayton Loftin, Wesley Fonseca, and Nathan Hicks was also third (10.16.66).
Placing fourth were Wesley Fonseca in the high jump (6’) and Dakota Stafford in the pole vault (8’ 6”).
Taking fifth were Poole in the shot put at 37’ 9” and the 4x200-meter relay team of Conner Droemer, Loftin, Lentz, and Shelton.
Also fifth was Warren in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of 11.55 and 24.04, respectively. Goff was sixth in the 100 with a time of 11.62.
Loftin was seventh in the triple jump (36’ 7.5”) and the 4x400-meter relay team of Daxton Bowman, Smith, Oliver Loaeza, and Clayton Green was also seventh at 4:12.94.
The Lady Bearcats acquired 33 points in the meet and were led by Christina O’Neal placing second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:44.75, and Lyddia Franklin earning second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.98.
Both the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relay teams took third, O’Neal was fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.90 and Jesseca Lewis was eighth in the triple jump at 24’ 10”.
