Kings Wins Two Events, Lady Bearcats Dominate Throws, Win 3A-4 District

With Zoie King winning two events and helping win another, and dominating the throwing events, the Booneville Junior High Lady Bearcats won the district track meet Tuesday night at Bearcat Stadium.

King scored her event wins in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.09 and in the long jump at 15’ 2.25”.

The Lady Bearcats had four placements in both the discus and shot events.

In the discus it was Evelyn Rogers winning the event at 81’ 3”, Brooklyn Phillips second at 79’ 1”, Bryleigh Gover third at 71’ 8”, and Jamie Reed seventh at 54’ 5”.

In the shot put Phillips took first by more than three feet at 35’ 8” with Reed third at 31’ 5.5”, Rogers fourth at 31’ 5” and Kelsey Moffett eighth at 24’ 5”.

The Lady Bearcat 4x100-meter relay team also won its event. That team was Kaylee King, Kailey Resch, Laci Cibik, and Zoie King.

Four Lady Bearcats also placed in the events Zoie King won.

Also placing in the 100-meter hurdles were Alycin Pearcy second at 18.11, Natalyn Adair third at 19.56, and Taylor Danekas seventh at 21.90.

Also placing in the long jump were Pearcy third at 14’10”, Malena Loftin fourth at 14’ 7.5”, and Addison Elmore fifth at 14’4”.

Sprint events saw placements included Pearcy third in the 100-meter run wat 14.28, and Kaylee King sixth at 14.37.

Sienna Siddons took seventh in the 200-meter dash at 31.03 and Loftin was eighth at 31.28.

Pearcy was second in the 400-meter dash at 1:11.58 with Makinley Ensey fourth at 1:13.00 and Laci Cibik eighth at 1:15.50.

King added a second place finish in the longer, 300-meter hurdle event with a time of 57.16, and Claire Parker was eighth at 1:08.34.

Abbi Schlup placed in both distance events, running second in the 800-meter run at 2:59.07 and third in the 1600-meters at 6:22.71.

Also scoring in the 800 was Cora Nichols eighth at 3:18.00 and Zoey Jones was seventh in the 1600 at 7:10.55.

The 4x200-, 4x400-, and 4x800-meter relay teams all took second. The 4x200-meter grouping was Daniella Vasquez, Sienna Siddons, Taylor Villarrreal, and Kaylee King.

The 4x400-meter team was Kaylee King, Vasquez, Nichols, and Jessica Canada while the 4x800-meter squad was Abbi Schlup, Laci Cibik, Vasquez, and Tori Nobles.

Vasquez was also second in the high jump a t4’ 6” with Elmore also taking seventh at 4’.

Also scoring in the jump events was Loftin fourth in the triple jump at 28’ with Resch sixth at 26’ 11.5” and Ensey seventh at 26’ 10.5”.
