Junior Trevor Karow had the top finisher for the Bearcats and freshman Abi Schlup figured into the scoring in two events for the Lady Bearcat leaders in the Class 3A state track meet yesterday in Jessieville.
Karow, a pole vaulter, cleared 11 feet to finish fifth and the event actually accounted for the majority of the points the Bearcats scored at the meet as Dakota Stafford was seventh with a personal best 10’ 6”.
The Bearcats remaining points came in the throws as Damari Poole was seventh in the discus at 122’ 3” and Dax Goff took seventh in the shot put with a personal best 44’ 0.25”.
The Lady Bearcat 4x800-meter relay team of Anna Ferguson, Christina O’Neal, Vanessa O’Neal, and Schlup took sixth with a time of 10:52.34.
Schulp added a personal best 6:08.50 in the 1600-meter for seventh place.
Ellie Smith was sixth in the long jump at 15’ 0.75” and Lyddia Fanklin was eighth in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.70.
