Just in time for Monday's return to school, four Booneville High School students received a new accessory item in the form of state championship rings.
As sophomores last winter triplets Vanessa, Christina, and Tiffany O’Neal, along with then-freshman Abi Schlup, won the 4x800-meter relay for Class 3A at the 2024 state indoor meet in Fayetteville on February 3.
Athletic director Josh Walker presented the girls, now juniors and a sophomore, with state championship rings for their efforts earlier today.
Led by the distance relay team, which was 15.98 seconds faster than the second place quartet from Dewitt, the Lady Bearcats finished fourth at the meet.
