Tuesday, August 20 is a busy day on the Booneville High School sports calendar. In short, if you are an athlete in any fall sport, excepting cross country and seventh grade football, you have a competition today.

However, there is a single opportunity to watch an event from a Bearcat home venue. That is with the volleyball team playing a Purple-White scrimmage at Bearcat Gymnasium with a first serve at 5:30 p.m.

The third such meeting between the squads should provide some bragging rights as the teams have twice played – once as a practice and once for Booneville Elementary School students (shown) – and each time both sides won set.

The Purple-White scrimmage is set to be broadcast at which is one of two chances to view live BHS athletics today.

The second is of the junior high and senior high Bearcat football teams who will be in Dardanelle for a scrimmage, or Arkansas Activities Association benefit game.

The junior high teams will play first at 6 p.m. followed by the senior high teams at approximately 7 p.m..

Actually, there is an opportunity to catch two different sports in Dardanelle as both tennis and football are there with the tennis Cats opening their season with a first serve set for 4 p.m.

Finally, the golf teams will continue their season with another trip to Waldron and a 4 p.m. tee time.
