TENNIS CATS TAKE 10 OF 12 MATCHES

The second outing for Bearcat/Lady Bearcat tennis was even better than the first as the combined to take 10 of 12 matches from Mulberry, including sweeping the singles matches.

Angie Brown and Dax Bowman both swept their opponents 6-0 and Anna Ferguson won her solo match 6-2. Taylor Shaver also picked up a win.

In doubles play Anna Ferguson (shown in a prior match) teamed with her sister, Emma Ferguson and again won a set without a blemish, 6-0, a feat duplicated by Raelynn Franklin and Joslin Combs.

Baylee Parnell made her tennis debut, partnering with Harley Fitzjurls in a 6-4 win and Marlena Loftin and Zoie Jones made it a sweep for the Lady Bearcats on the day.

Aiden Carter and Wesley Fonseca and Shaver and Gabe Draper also won doubles matches for the Bearcats.

Dropping their sets by identical 6-3 scores were doubles partners Draper and Jaxon Harger, and Hunter Pollard and Whit Kendall.

The tennis teams' next outing is Tuesday against Atkins at Marcelle Phillips City Park.
