The Seventh Grade Bearcats suffered a 20-6 loss in Ozark Thursday evening.

The Bearcats (1-1) started the game by keeping the football for the entire first quarter and more than a minute of the second quarter before running out of downs in the red zone.

Quarterback Hank Loftin (shown) had picked up a first down on one fourth down and Colt Whitehouse duplicated the feat four down later.

The Bearcats forced a simulated Ozark punt to get the ball back but would have to punt themselves and Ozark put together the game’s first scoring drive.

The Hillbillies scored just four seconds before halftime to take a 6-0 lead and doubled the lead to 12-0 on the first play of the second quarter.

The first play of the final quarter saw the deficit grow to 20-0.

Whitehouse got the Bearcats on the board with a 54-yard run with 2:24 to play.

The seventh graders will play their first home game next Thursday against Paris. The game starts at 5:30.
