Jordan Day scored three touchdowns on just four carries and the Seventh Grade Bearcats pounded Lavaca 36-0 Thursday night to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Day’s first touchdown came on an 18-yard run with 3:10 left in the first quarter and capped a six-play drive. Hank Loftin ran for a two-point conversion and an 8-0 lead.

After Lavaca’s second simulated punt, Loftin threw to Jackson Harris for 12 yards and David Bik (shown) went 53 yards for a touchdown and a 14-0 lead.

Day scored on a 1-yard run 2:37 before halftime for a 20-0 lead but the Bearcats were not finished for the half.

After a sack by Cain Catlett, one of four by the Bearcats, lead to another punt, Day rumbled for over 50 yards inside the 10 but a flag brought it back, so he went 63 yards on the next play for his third touchdown as time expired.

Catlett ran for the conversion and a 28-0 lead.

Lavaca punted early in the third quarter and the Bearcats turned to Colten Simmons, Maverick Greene, and Tuff Todd in the backfield.

Todd had a 40-yard run that set up his 1-yard touchdown and Austin Stone ran for the conversion to make it 36-0 with 1:34 left in the third quarter.

Colt Whitehouse was the defensive leader with four solo stops and Harris, Aiden Akers, and Braxton Bearden joined Catlett in the sack attack.

The Bearcats will be at Cedarville next Thursday with a 5:30 p.m. starting time.
