The Booneville Bearcats and Junior High Bearcats helped fuel another packed meet at the Buck Fever Showcase in Mena Tuesday.
In the senior high division Nathan Hicks was the first Bearcat to cross the 5000-meter finish line with a time of 20:45.10, placing 34th in the 94-runner field.
Cooper Lentz was 58th at 23:09 and Aayden Hill, Barrett Coker and Rissen Baugh completing the team score with Chris Stafford in the tiebreaker position.
In junior high it was Jaydon Walker (shown in a previous meet) running a 10:12.60 2500-meters for 39th in a field of 144 and Leo Vasquez in 69th at 11:18. Completing the team score were Kypton Jones, Parker Sing, and Parker Schulp all placing in succession.
Also on the course for the junior high Bearcats were Breckyn Denton and Levi Porter.
The highest placement of the day came in the senior girls division where Cora Nichols ran a 27:10.40 for 30th in the 82 runner field, but she was the only Lady Bearcat to run.
The junior girls had four runners so they did not earn a team score but it was Aleena Guajardo leading the way in 92nd in the 145-runner race.
Elizabeth Carter, Brooklyn Adair, and Hadley Stewart also completed the 2500-meter course.
A change has been made to the cross country schedule. The teams will not run in Greenwood on October 3 but will instead run at Acorn on October 8.
Additionally the Bearcats will be hosting the district meet on October 29.
