The Bearcat and Lady Bearcat tennis teams hosted Haskell Harmony Grove in what will be the final home match of 2024.
HHG is a Bearcat/Lady Bearcat conference opponent in tennis only.
Results were mixed from the home team at Marcelle Phillips City Park as the Booneville girls swept three singles matches but HHG got both boys singles sets.
Angie Brown edged her opponent 6-4, Joslin Combs won a 6-2 set, and Raelynn Franklin swept her opponent 6-0.
Daxton Bowman and Taylor Shaver dropped their sets to Cardinal players.
HHG also won all but one doubles match, which Whit Kendall and Jaxon Harger (shown) took 6-4.
Aiden Carter and Wesley Fonseca suffered a loss for the first time and Hunter Pollard and Gabe Draper fell in a 7-5 set.
Malena Loftin and Zoie King dropped a narrow 6-5 set as HHG got all three girls doubles set though Emma Ferguson and Anna Ferguson as well as Baylee Parnell and Harley Fitzjurls both being paired against male players.
For the Ferguson siblings and Parnell, that was after a full day at the district golf tournament.
On Thursday of last week the Ferguson girls did win their set against Jessieville, 6-3 and both Noah Harrel and Bowman also picked up singles wins.
A scheduled match with Mulberry on Tuesday has been cancelled so the next outing for the tennis teams will be at the district tournament in Jessieville on October 2.
