Jordan Day ran for two second half touchdowns and the Seventh Grade Bearcats completed a perfect run through Conference 3A-1 with a 20-6 win at Alumni Field in Charleston.

The Bearcats (9-1, 7-0) led 6-0 at the half of a swiftly played game and started the second half with possession of the ball.

A 20-yard carry by Hank Loftin got the Bearcats to midfield but two downs later it was third-and-9 at the Tiger 49-yard line when Day got free on the edge and scored for a 12-0 lead.

Charleston, which had 7 yards of offense in the first half, then drove 70 yards of their own scoring on a 6-yard run with 3:53 remaining in the game to make it 12-6.

On the second snap after the simulated kickoff David Bik cleared the corner for Day and Day went 68 yards for another touchdown giving him 116 yards on just four carries for the day.

Bik then ran for the 2-point conversion and a 20-6 lead with 2:55 to play.

Charleston crossed midfield with what would be the final possession of the season but a sack by Bik and Aiden Akers and another by Braxton Bearden on successive plays ended it.

In the first half the Bearcats missed an opportunity after Maverick Greene recovered a fumble at the Tiger 29 with a turnover on downs at the 19.

The Bearcats would score on their second possession overcoming one false start with a 28-yard run by Bik and another that made it third-and-goal from the 6 with Loftin scoring from there to make it 6-0 just 14.6 seconds before halftime.
