Playing the nightcap of a four game set that included junior high and a JV senior boys game, the Lady Bearcats fell behind early but made several runs, all of which drew a response and Ozark went on to take a 57-45 win Monday.

Before the game was two minutes old Ozark had opened a 7-0 lead.

The Lady Bearcats then went on an 8-2 run and was within one with 1:50 to go in the first quarter after a Baylee Parnell free throw.

At the 1:07 mark of the opening quarter Tempi Terry drew her third foul and Ozark answered with the next 6 points

But Haylee Taylor hit her third 3 within 2:26 and fourth of the half and the Lady Bearcat had drawn even at 17-17 with 3:35 left in the half.

Taylor scored 14 points in the half and finished with 16.

Ozark closed the half on an 8-1 run from there and led 25-18. with an Angie Brown free throw accounting for the Lady Bearcat point.

Brown finished the night with 10 points and seven assists.

Parnell (shown), who would be one of three Lady Bearcats in double figures with 14 points to go with six rebounds, scored 6 points in a span of 1:38 to get the Lady Bearcats within 33-20 and a basket by Brown made it 35-30 with 2:15 to play in the third quarter.

But again Ozark pulled away, this time to a lead of 43-31 through three quarters and it was no closer than nine the rest of the night.

The Lady Bearcats will be back in action tonight, again playing the nightcap against Mena at Bearcat Gymnasium, but of a two-game set that includes the JV senior boys, which starts at 6 p.m.
