TOURNAMENT PAIRINGS SET FOR BILL FRYE, 39TH OPAL PISTOLE

Brackets for a pair of tournaments involving the Bearcat and Lady Bearcat basketball programs have been finalized.

The Bill Frye Invitational will be held in Mansfield on Friday December 27, Saturday December 28, and Monday December 30.

The field includes both boys and girls teams from seven schools, the Centerpoint girls and the Greenwood boys.

Those are also the first round opponents for the Lady Bearcats and Bearcats with the Lady Bearcats and Lady Knights opening the tournament at 11 a.m. on December 27 followed by the Bearcats and Bulldogs at 11:20.

The December 28 games will be against either Waldron or Heavener, Okla., with both girls games winners playing at 4:20 and the boys winners playing at 5:40, and the two losing girls squads playing at 11 a.m. and boys losing teams playing at 12:20.

The December 30 games will be against Mansfield, Cossatot River, Hackett, or Elkins.

The junior high Lady Bearcats and Bearcats area also set to play in the 39th Annual Opal Pistole Tournament at County Line January 18-25.

The Bearcats are set to face Pleasant View at 3 p.m. on January 18 and, with a win, would play again at 7:45 p.m. on January 23.

The Lady Bearcats open the tournament against Mountainburg at 4 p.m. on January 18 and with a win will play again at 6:30 on January 23.

Teams who win their first round game will play a third game on January 25, playing for either first or third place.
