The Junior High Bearcats punched their ticket for the finals of the Opal Pistole Tournament in County Line with a 31-18 win over the host Indians Wednesday night.
The finals opponent on Saturday will be Paris. To allow schools with common opponents to play back-to-back, the game will tip off at 12:15 p.m.
The Bearcats (12-4) hit six 3 pointers in the game with Edwin Garcia hitting three and totaling 11 points. Two of the 3s came in the second half while the Bearcats pulled away from a 12-12 tie at the break.
Drake Brackney also hit twice in the second half and finished with a game high 12 points. Aiden Rhinehart accounted for the final 3 and Callen Montalvo scored the remaining 5 points.
The Lady Bearcats (8-6) struggled offensively throughout the night in a 26-11 loss to County Line.
Chloe Walker, Torie Nobles, and Kaity Green all scored 3 points.
The Lady Bearcats will face Paris in the third place game, also against Paris, on Saturday at 11 a.m.
