Fourth quarters offensive outbursts by Chloe Walker and Edwin Garcia led the Junior High Lady Bearcats and Bearcats to wins over Cedarville Thursday night.

Walker had 2 points going into the final quarter when the Lady Bearcats held the slimmest of leads at 16-15. She finished with 9.

Walker scored three times on putbacks and later added a free throw that helped the Lady Bearcats beat the Lady Pirates for the second time.

Kaity Green had a basket in what would be a 9-0 run when Walker added the free throw to make it 25-15.

The Lady Bearcats (9-6) had led 12-7 at halftime as, with what would be a team leading 10 points, Alycin Pearcy accounted for all Lady Bearcat scoring except a basket by Walker.

In the boys game Cedarville built a 25-18 lead with 2:23 to go in the third quarter.

A pair of free throws and a 3 by Drake Brackney (shown( cut the deficit to 2 and a free throw by Sadler Miller and basket by Callen more than offset a Pirate free throw and it was tied at 26-26 with 4:15 to play.

After Cedarville scored to go back in front Garcia scored 5 points in a span of 23 seconds by hitting a 3 then recording a steal and layup to make it 31-28 with 2:32 to play.

Though it was merely by one point for well over a minute, the Bearcats (13-4) would not trail again as free throws by Montalvo and Brackney kept them in front.

After Cedarville got within 35-32, a free throw by Garcia with 19.4 seconds to go gave him 6 points and extended it to a two possession game.

The junior high teams will next play Saturday in the Opal Pistole tournament at County Line with the Lady Bearcats playing Paris in a third place game at 11 a.m. and the Bearcats also playing Paris in the championship game of the tournament at 12:15 p.m.
